Outreach Programs
If You Teach a Man to Fish, You Feed Him for a Lifetime!
Here are a few of the things we do for outreach:
Firewood Ministry
We endeavor to provide as much help to those in our community for heating in the winter by providing firewood at no cost. We saw and split wood at our facility at 3200 Statesville Road North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. All anyone needs to do is contact the church, and someone will contact you to arrange to meet you to help load some firewood into your vehicle. We do not usually do home delivery, but may be able to in certain situations. No charge, but donations for gas, oil, and equipment are accepted.
Call the church for more info.
NETworX
NETworX is a national movement to measurably reduce poverty at its holistic core, not through well-doing for others, but through well-being together. NETworX is individuals and communities seeking together to build intentional relationships though education and love of neighbor as well as love of self. Contact Fran Harvey at the church for more information. You can also get more information at www.networxusa.org
Catherine Barber Memorial Shelter
The Catherine H. Barber Memorial shelter has provided services to many who are in crisis situations by providing a safe, warm, dry place to sleep along with food, bath and laundry facilities. Anyone in need of temporary shelter is eligible for service. Located upstairs at Crossfire UMC, their mission is to provide services to many who are in crisis situations by providing a safe, warm, dry place to sleep along with food, bath and laundry facilities.
Contact the shelter or Andy Harvey at Crossfire UMC for more information.
